“Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work: If one falls down, his friend can help him up. But pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up!”-Ecclesiastes 4:9-10

Saturday morning came upon me in a hurry and as I looked around my apartment at 6am I sat wondering how I was going to get everything packed and in the U-Haul by noon. I really wasn’t sure how it was all going to come together since I had been having a lot of trouble finding people who would be in-town and available to help load the truck. Well, as usual the Lord was faithful and provided enough people to help. Through this packing process the Lord has taught me a lot about what “the church” should really look like. A church is not just a building where people go to hear a sermon on Sundays; a church is the group of people that congregate to worship and serve together. This was exemplified to me on Saturday through five amazing people. They gave up their Saturday to serve Christ by serving me. Not only did they demonstrate what true friendship is, but they also showed their love for Christ by helping a fellow believer when I was in need the most.

I have always found it hard to ask others for help because I like to try and do everything myself, but this group has shown me what it means to serve selflessly and with true joy. Thank you Emily, Jonathan, Ashleigh, Matt and Valerie for being a true example of what “the church” should look like.

I also want to thank everyone else who made this move possible. God provided my every need during this move and once again put me in awe of His provision. I am so thankful for all of you!

May He get all the glory!

  2. Hey girl! I’m so glad the move went well. And go small group for helping out. I’m totally bummed I couldn’t help but it looks like God was able to put enough people together for you. His timing is sufficient. And so funny you would talk about what you did about us being the church. Check out David’s message from Sunday. Hmmmmmm….. Holy Spirit much!
