My name is Caroline Dorning and I am originally from Huntsville, Alabama. I lived there until I left for college where I attended the University of Alabama (Roll Tide!!). I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing. Since graduation, I have been working in Birmingham, AL in the Marketing field. I grew up always thinking that one of the keys to a successful life was climbing the corporate ladder, but the Lord has recently shown me that He wants more from my life; He wants me to have a life of service; one that makes a difference for Him.

In 2004 and 2005 the Lord provided me with the opportunity to go on mission trips to Kenya, Africa. I had no idea how the Lord would use these two trips to begin to form my heart and desires for the mission field. I fell madly in love with the people of Africa and saw first hand the great need that people around the world have for God’s Word. It broke my heart to see people who would give anything just to have a copy of the Bible, when so many Americans have multiple copies they don’t even read. I have always had a passion to learn about other countries and their cultures, but the Lord has made the burden for these people so much greater in the past few years. I know now that the Lord has put me on this earth to make a difference in these people’s lives; to be able to bring the Word to people who have never heard.

My greatest hope and desire for my life is to make an impact in other people’s lives. It is hard for even me to believe that I would be able to make a difference, as I am just one person, but that is where the Lord comes in. I do not know why he has chosen me for His ministry, but I am just thankful He sees something in me that He can use for His glory. Through some ministry experiences, the Lord has shown me how small I am, and how amazing the Lord is that He can use me to impact a person’s life.

God has not only given me a passion for the lost all around the world, but also a desire to help raise up a generation of young people who are madly in love with Him and passionate about showing His light to a world that is covered in darkness. I now realize that God doesn’t just want us to have good lives, He wants us to have GREAT lives and the only way to do this is by following His will for each of our lives. In Christ’s arms is the only place true freedom and peace is found. I can’t wait to share my life with other young people and understand with them what it truly means to live a life of abandonment and faith in Christ. I am so excited to see all that God does!
